How to Throw an Amazing “Galentine’s” Party!

February 14th is Valentine’s Day! Now, not all people have a special someone to spend it with, so grab a few of your single girlfriends and get ready to party down with some Galentines Day Fun!

1. Dress Up

Now this is completely up to you how fancy you want your party to be, I’ve been to Galentine’s parties were everyone broke out their winter formals, some parties people were in their classic  LBD’s ( Little Black Dress), and some parties everyone kept it casual. But why not spice it up and get a little fancy? You could pick a color theme, “everyone wear pink or red” because why not?! Dressing up also looks sooo good in photos which brings me to my next point.

2. Set time aside for an impromptu photo shoot! These are some of the most fun photos you’ll ever have ! You can even make one of these adorable backdrops and add in some props just to give it a little extra pizzazz!

So cute right?!

3. Food

Oh my goodness. All you have to do is look up Valentine’s Day Inspired Food on Pinterest and you’ll be flooded with so many wonderful ideas! There are many different routes you can take when it comes to food. You can have a full on semi formal banquet or my personal favorite, a dessert bar.

There are so many great Valentine’s Day treats and you can get as crafty as you want with this. I think this cheesecake is adorable, all you need is a cheesecake ( you can take the easy route like me and just buy one, or you can make this cheesecake using the recipe from cooking classy), a little dropper of raspberry sauce, and a toothpick to make these adorable hearts on this fantastic cheesecake!

Guys! Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls! Need I say more? And why not make them pink by adding a few drops of red food dye into the dough mixture? That would give it the extra flair in my opinion 😉

Rice Crispies are actually pretty straightforward to make, and they are definitely what people seem to grab for the most at dresset bars (or is it just me? Hehe!)  I can’t seem to get enough! Plus I love what these creative bloggers have done to the Rice Crispies for Valentine’s , er, I mean GALentine’s day!

And there always has to be a big bowl of Valentine!s Day Snack Mix for when you gather around the Telly and watch a cheesy Disney movie or chick flick!

Yummy!!

I’m not sure why I identify chocolate dipped strawberries so strongly with Valentine’s Day, but I do. These take quite a bit of work and since Strawberries are not in season now, this can get a little spendy. But if you are willing to take the time, and have spare cash, there is nothing quite like a homemade dipped strawberry. And the appreciation and pride of , “why yes, I made these” and seeing the eyes widen of whoever you’re talking to!

4. Games!

This is where the real fun comes in! You can basically take any game and give it a Valentine’s spin! Here are a few of my personal favorites.

  • Valentine’s Day Madlibs (who doesn’t love a good round of Madlibs?).
  • “Best Pick Up Line” cards . Every girl gets a “Valentine’s” day card ( you can even make them together!) and everyone writes the best pickup lines they can think of on each persons card. Oddly enough this is a great bonding activity and be prepared for lots of giggles!
  • The “Who can write the best love letter using as many sweetheart candies as possible” game? This is pretty self explanatory. Each person gets a box of sweethearts and they must write a love letter while using as many of the candies as possible! You’ll need a nonbiased judge to pick the winner. Another version of this game is  who can write the best breakup letter. Somehow I won this version and got my very own breakup glitter that I’m supposed to sprinkle on me to make someone stop liking me. Lovely. )

Again, take an old classic like Pictionary and make it your own! It’s all about the fun and love!

5. Movie

This is completely optional, but it’s always nice to fangirl over a good chic flic or girly Disney movie with the girl squad. Personally, I would recommend Tangled! Grab that Valentine’s Day Snack Mix and snuggle up with some cozy blankets and sing your heart away and gush over Flynn Ryder.

It’s always fun to spend time with the “Gal’s” no matter what! Galentine’s is just another great excuse to have some fun together in fancy clothing and to make long lasting memories. I hope you have a fantastic Valentine’s /Galentine’s Day and hopefully these ideas have inspired you to take your party just up that one extra notch! Have a fabulous week!

    Sincerely,

    Dreamette ❤

    1. I have to agree with Wayne on this one. The “div-soup” as you call it only gets cumbersome if you let it.What is presented here with HTML 5 seems cleaner yes, but it also seems like it would create more headaches as far as singling out various elements to be styled.I’ll be sticking with XHTML for a while if this is the future.
